Would the US have no option but to order Turkey off Cyprus to save NATO from seeming disintegration?

Could Turkey ever aspire to join Europe after a military confrontation with an EU member which sought to recover her territorial rights in line with international law?

These are some of the dynamics that a Cyprus Vs Turkey war scenario can and will most likely bring, so the notion that it’s just a simple case of a “big boy” slapping a “small boy” is very short sighted.

I think that any war in Cyprus would immediately result in all out warfare in the Aegean. That is inevitable as there is no more Junta within Greece.

Greece and Turkey are practically engaged in a psywar as we speak, and I am expecting much from the newly elected Government.

This alone would be a massive help to the CNG, as Turkey will be required to fight on 2 fronts.

Ever heard of David and Golieth??

The UK with all it's firepower couldn't defeat 250 determined EOKA heros.

Russia as a super power had her arse kicked in Afganistan

The US and the UK are being shat on in Iraq and Afganistand with their trillions of dollars, oil, ships and whatever else.

Now tell me, is the comparison actually worth anything in real terms, it's just a comparison of statistics, useless.

The problem with such websites is that it simply compares numbers. It does not take into account the quality of the equipment, the quality of training etc etc. Basically, the data should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I doubt it!

Australia has the capability to render Greece's American arsenal and guidance systems redundant!

That's what happens when your arsenal of weapons have Australian components.

Plus Australia has the capability to project power in the Mediterranean, whilst Greece can't project anything all the way to the Pacific or Indian ocean.

Those that make the weapons are the ones that control the war.

Analytical input? It's really encouraging to see grown ups on this forum trying to impress eachother with military hardware like a bunch of little kids playing soldiers. It seems you have nothing better to do. This war scenario you plonkers are discussing is not going to happen. I will apologise when it does. Now put on your battle gear and run over to the ceasefire line and start shooting    Good luck!
