Was the price of 5.50 for a coffee displayed, as required by law? If so, why do people patronise these places when other establishments charge reasonable prices?

The food was brilliant and they always had a few Cyprus special dishes available - true Cypriot home cooking as far as I am concerned. They also used to serve teas, coffees or beers. The prices were extremely reasonable. Yet, they went out of business this spring. Why can't people, instead of endlessly bitching about having paid extortionate prices, vote with their wallets and take their business to places that give good service at fair prices? This is how the market is supposed to work. Or are most people masochists at heart?

Perhaps we should start a thread on its own along the lines of CF Best Value Eateries with real prices from members to encourage these sorts of establishments .... and perhaps a rip-off prices thread as well.
