There could be something in it though...The British men always say that they get sent to the garden shed when they have done something wrong so perhaps its the Cypriot equivalent!! :lol: :lol:

You may be thinking of the British thout house. A small building separate from the main house, used as a toilet.

Army Barracks also come to mind.

Worthwhile checking the etymology of 'army barracks'. Odds on its another Arabic derived word.

I think that used to be known as the 'cludgie' anywhere north of the Trent.

Barrach = a hut made of branches. der. fr, Gaelic barrachad - barrach meaning = branches. :oops:
