MILITARY PARADE WAS HELD IN SOUTH CYPRUS TO MARK THE SO-CALLED INDEPENDENCE DAY
The Greek Cypriot Administration has celebrated the 49th Anniversary of the independence of the so-called Republic of Cyprus.
A military parade was held in South Nicosia yesterday as part of celebrations marking the day.
Once again the Greek Cypriot Side showed off its military hardware which it spends billions on every year as part of its hostile armament campaign.
The celebrations marking the independence of the so-called Republic of Cyprus usurped by the Greek Cypriots in 1963 climaxed yesterday with a military parade by the Greek Cypriot National Guard in South Nicosia.
The parade was attended by the Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias, the Greek Cypriot Defence Minister Kostas Papakostas and his Greek counterpart Evagelos Meimerakis.
Tanks belonging to the Greek ELDIK regiment, missiles, air defence systems, various forms of artillery and over 100 armoured personnel careers were also paraded at the ceremony.
Speaking after the ceremony, the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Demetris Christofias said that under no circumstances would he again accept “arbitration and tight timeframes” in the ongoing talks aimed at reaching a solution to the Cyprus Problem.
A group from the terrorist organization PKK also handed a bouquet of flowers to the Greek Cypriot leader at the end of the ceremony.
Well I'll make sure I am in Cyprus next 30Aug and attend one of these to see what the fuss is all about.
