Clocked Cars

Postby Richardcy402 » Thu Oct 01, 2009 10:42 am

Hi could anybody advise me as to where to buy a car in Cyprus that has not been Clocked. I have found 4 different cars that I would like to have bought but after reading the advert in Cyprus weekly about Car clocking I decide to check them out before I bought. The company Mileage Check Europe (http://www.mileagecheck.eu) provided me with certificates for all 4 cars which proved they had been clocked one of them had actually had 50,000 kilometres removed.

I have a close relative who is a mechanic and who has shipped cars from GB to CY on a small scale for friends and relatives.

He tells me that all cars are clockable with the exception of Mercs ( I think that was the make or it may have been BMW) where the manufacturer insists on an on-line mileage check with a data base at the service time.

He also tells me that this is a large problem in CY where dealers are buying job lots of ex-lease or ex-rental cars in GB, clocking them and sending to CY.

Be wary people, do the checks as RCY says above.

Hi Richard

As you have mentioned the company in each of your posts; you are in Nicosia and the company representative is in Nicosia, are we to believe that you are their Agent?

Hello Svetlana

I have mentioned the company because i have used them and believe that they are providing a good and honest service, I have no other connection with the company and i dont think that i would be brave enough to work for them in Cyprus as i think they could upset alot of car dealers.

It's OK, we believe you. I am sure this an unsolicited recommendation for the company in question.
