The 137 passengers were first told that there was a technical problem, when passengers started to get weary a second announcement was made stating that the delay was for a "VIP passenger" . After a two hour wait in the lounge passengers finally boarded the plane, where they waited an extra hour. When Talaturi and his Mrs finally arrived, passengers protested by clapping and "yuhhing" ( like they do in football matches). The reaction was so fierce that Talaturi and his gang got off the plane.

Who the hell do these people think they are? I can understand a delay of an hour or so at most to accommodate these pricks but not 3 hours.

Poor Talat, nothing goes right for him. Last time he travelled to Washington to meet with Hillary for half an hour, and the best photo he got with her was in the corridor, and then in New York few days ago him sitting around a small table with Ban and the Turkish delegation as if they were just shooting the breeze with nothing official looking about it. That's the second photo opt he has gotten with world leaders where they were very undignified for him to say the least. I guess it is better than nothing for him, but they seem so staged and nothing looks as if he is being heard at all. It appears like these politicians are forced to sit down with him for few minutes just to take some pictures with them. He was in NY for few days, and the only picture I saw of Talat was sitting around this very small table as described above. Was he ignored by all the delegations from around the world, or was he not allowed to enter the UN building. I don't know the answer to my own question.!

This plane fiasco is another blunder. To be fair to Talat, I don't think it was his doing to delay the Cyprus bound plane by 3 hours. I bet it was one of his office boys responsible for his transportation wanted to impress Talat by a plane was waiting for him to transfer immediately, and this aid probably thought the delay passengers will be honoured to have the "President" aboard to turn the passenger plane in to "Air Force One".

I checked the scheduled flight of Turkish Airlines from New York to Istanbul which was scheduled to land at 0955, but it did not land until 1105. Now, whom ever asked for the Cyprus bound plane to be delayed, which was scheduled to take off at 0935, must have known that at the very least there was going to be 1 1/2 hours delay just when the TA planes touches down in Istanbul. Allow for taxing, baggage claim, use the head after a long flight, then head to the Cyprus bound jet, and you are looking at minimum 2 1/2 hours delay without any other complications. Now, I'm sure Talat knew they would not be arriving to Istanbul on time, so there is no way he would knowingly delay the Cyprus bound jet by asking the pilot on the TA flight to call ahead to delay the Cyprus plane for him. I think the whole thing was handled by some idiot from his office looking for doing some brown nosing job . That's the reason why Talat got off the plane, because he was embarrassed by the whole event. It looked to him as if he was more important than the other 137 passengers on the plane. I really do not believe it was Talat's idea to cause this problem. He can't be that stupid, surely. Now he has lost all those 137 votes for next years elections.!

Anyway, I'm sure we will hear more later, but in the meantime, I think Talat should have his own plane to get around. He is the "President" after all. I would recommend for him to use this one.

Umit, the world should stop for our Muhtar X never mind a plane. Behave yourself. I think its all that extra blood that gets to your head on account of being upside down in ausi land.

Talaturi got what he deserved. There's at least five flights everyday from Istanbul, he could of waited or got Erdie to lend him one of he's planes.

If I was there it would have been one "colourful" sight
 .

P.S: We are the right way up in Aussie land, leading to proper blood circulation towards the knob. Why do you think that so many pommy chicks come down under?

Probaply the same reason why the ausi chicks come to England, but we are gentlemen and refuse to get them to turn upside down. It's either doggy or missionary position I am afraid.
Ausi girl was asked on TV if she had sex in unusual places. She replied yeah up the arse on the kitchen table.

And it was so nice Fred had to say it twice.

What are you implying freddy old chap, old boy ? What's wrong about shaggin on the kitchen table?

The aspect in question is not the table! Although I will not be eating food in your house any time soon.

Never met Akinci but I was in Lurucina in the 80s when Ozgur came to Lurucina and I was introduced to him by one of my friends and I found him most genuine human being ever. Talat I have not met but I know people who have and they speak of him in the same mould.
We are very lucky to have such people.
