politics aside. this man must be going through a very deep dark part of his life and accusing him and having a go at him is such an evil thing to do.. no matter what his beliefs are no matter what he supports partition of cyprus and a recgonised turkish invaded north. it just shows how barbaric some cypritos can be instead of saying a few kind words and setting politics aside to dig into him and have a go at him.. i dont think its very ncie thing to do..

even though i agree with 100% of your posts normally. i dont agree with this one.

plus Isaak and Solomou where warned he knew fully well the turks would kill him instead he tried to climb the pole and take the flag down it was his own fault Solomou was an idiot for trying to take the flag down did he really think the turks would let him?

you know me im not pro turk i wish they would take all the flags down and get the hell out of cyprus and re unite the land..because in the north thats all there is TURKEY flags everywhere you go big huge ones.. its stupid but the guy is certainly not a hero for doing a stupid thing. how can you compare that to the mans sons death. the turks also fired on un soldiers and woonded them im suprised the un did nothing to the turks.

have a heart sotos!

Ask yourself why he has chosen to discuss his son's death in CYPRUS PROBLEM!

(Both Sotos and I extended our personal condolences to him yesterday but since then, things have moved on ....)

Better still .... YOU tell us why, Expatkiwi.

Why have you decided to discuss your sad loss in the Cyprus Problem section?

And would you kindly answer my post on the previous page since you chose to debate this matter publicly .... There seem to be a few folk who don't "know" you as well as we do!

Oracle,

If you recall, I made a post about two Turkish tourists I bumped into in Little Rock, Arkansas while my son was still in his coma. They had ridiculed my support of TRNC, replying that the north of Cyprus was going to eventually be part of Turkey. This - on top of my son's deteriorating condition - was a shock.

I support partition for one simple reason: The Turkish Cypriots don't want to live under your Government, and if that's the case, why not let them have their own land? True, the current 37% IMHO is too large, and there would have to be some cessions of territory to the South, and it should be agreed that Turkey would never be able to annex the TRNC. This stance has gotten me some negativity from the Turkish side, but if I am to have any degree of integrity, I just can't compromise.

You are not alone in believing that. But I put unification first. We must try and live together, but judging by the activities of Muhtar X it is looking more unlikely every day.

Expatkiwi wrote:People all over the world have died or killed defending their flag, so your little comment about the TRNC flag doesn't really cut any ice, considering that the person who was shot while scaling that pole was given due warning and chose to ignore it. That's not martyrdom. That was stupidity.

This is what Expatkiwi said about Solomou. Solomou was murdered and Expatkiwi is calling him stupid and excuses his murder!!!! Solomou died because some murderer turned a gun on him and shot him mr Expatkiwi. Not because he was driving carelessly and had an accident like your son and his friends! So I stick to what I said. I am sorry for your son but you are an immoral scum who supports crimes like murders and ethnic cleansing and you deserve no sympathy.

That Ishaak & Solomouse bloke chose their own destiny with their stupidity. Perhaps they thought the TA would react half heartedly to their deliberate provocations.

One positve outcome from their selfish acts is that they probably saved the lives of many other fools like them. They set a fine example to their people on "how not to play politics" with Baba.

RIP Izshak & Solomouse. May God give their families the patience and strength to get over their silly actions & the uneccesary anxiety they brought upon others around them.

See, Expatkiwi, this is what I don't get! Why would the Cyprus Problem be on your mind at such a time as your son was in a coma?

Most GCs, even directly affected refugees, would not be "shocked" by anything other than their child's condition.
And Cyprus isn't even your country!

I support partition for one simple reason: The Turkish Cypriots don't want to live under your Government, and if that's the case, why not let them have their own land?

I don't want to live under a Conservative Government in the UK, but I'm certainly not going to demand my own separate state just because I don't like that democratically elected government.

What gives the TCs the right to demand their own state just because they don't like a democratically elected government?

What INTEGRITY and what compromise for you? Why is your opinion of yourself more important than what some 800,000 GCs may want regarding Cyprus?

It's really uncomfortable, even for me, discussing politics with the knowledge of a loss, such as this, so you must have some major reason for doing this, Expatkiwi ....
