Does that that, and the 30 years of their occupation, make them right? Does it make them legitimate Americans?!?
There's nothing right about settlers. They shouldn't have been in Cyprus and this is not just GC opinion but TC opinion as well. However, there are settlers who came to Cyprus in 1974, and they got married in Cyprus, and they had their kids in Cyprus. Their whole life is in Cyprus and they're children are Cypriots since they were born in Cyprus. It's not right to tell these people to go back.
On the other hand, there are settlers that just came to Cyprus in the last 4-5 years, and they have no connection with Cyprus whatsoever. All they care about is to make money in Cyprus to send back to Turkey. These people should go back.
The settlers issue should be solved in a sensible way. You can't defend your "human rights" with "all settlers should go back" mentality.
