Export to the Greek Cypriot Side has increased within the framework of the EU Commission’s Green Line Regulation in Cyprus.
According to recent statistics, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has made export to the Greek Cypriot Side worth of 4,410,000 Euros in total, in the first 8 months of 2009.
According to the information obtained from the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce, the highest increase of export was observed in vegetables within the Green Line trade.
As in previous years, the potato ranks first.
Meanwhile, work is still underway to allow honey and snail trade within the Green Line Regulation.
The Green Line Regulation has been in force since 1 May 2004. It defines the terms under which EU law applies to the movement of persons, goods and services between the TRNC and the Greek Cypriot Administration.
