I myself lived in a UN tent for 3 months… oh happy times! :?

If it weren’t for my dad’s decision to head for London via a Red Cross ferry boat, we’d probably still be there!

It’s the story of 5 people, one suitcase, and £3 arriving at Victoria station…
And on to the scoungers sorry I mean benefits office.

I don't know if they had it in 1974 but the old man was too proud for that...
Of course they did you, wogs have been coming for years.

Come to think of it... no sooner did we go to school that a dirty old man in a raincoat approached my sister while crossing a park on her way home, flashed himself and goes… “I’ll give you £5 if you watch it rise!”

Talk about the land of opportunities…

Maybe the Turkish rockets weren’t so bad after all… :?

ORACLE:

Did you have Afxenthiou in mind. I rememeber the church bell when he was killed in I think 1958. I was living in Kerynia at the time.

I second Mr Purdey on his views. Spent a lot of time in Cuba up to a few years ago.

Locals pester you for every dollar, you get ripped off everywhere you go. Food is terrible due to the shortages and very expensive.

Women are not attractive, many of them obese due to a poor diet high in fats.

Lots of very bad looking prostitutes everywhere. A lot of families send their daughters out to work on the game and bring in money. This is very common in Cuba.

Also lots of eurotrash Jozef Fritzl lookalikes walking around with young boys... Paedophilia tourism is rife there but widely ignored.

The architecture is stunning though, despite every building being close to collapse. Some of the beaches are also very nice.

If that is communism, then we should thank God every day that we live in a capitalist system.

No, I wasn't thinking of Afxentiou (shame on me) although now you mention him, I can see the resemblance 8)

.... Nope .... closer to home, but we'd best drop the association until things are looking a little more positive both for Cuba, Che and associated protagonist. :)

God wouldn't want to be associated with the Capitalist system, so thank the devil instead!

Wingnut, are we now to start condemning every poor country in the world because we have smugly creamed the best from the World's resources?

Well, Cuba may be poor, but they have good principles on equality and we should nurture that positive ideal. Cyprus has wealth, and it is here to give Cuba a lift. We are humanitarian and the quicker the Turks stop draining our finances and country, the more time and money we can spend improving the rest of our sister societies.

BTW ... I hear Gordon Brown is going to build state-run, live-in institutions for those >20,000 per year teenagers who have unwanted babies so that he can start moralising them out of this extreme reversal of fortunes Capitalism seems to have reached!

Oracle, I think either you are confused or you love sensation, possibly because you have an underlying health problem like ADHD.

I've been observing you. Your every post contains something offensive or borderline offensive to Turks. I'm sure many of our progressive Turkish neighbours who believe like us in Cypriot unity and do not support every action of their country would be quite upset with the tone and language in your posts regarding their people.

Now you try to present yourself as a Communist...

Are you a Hellenic-nationalist communist?
