In statements during a feast organized by the “TRNC” Black Sea Association, that is, the Turkish settlers who came illegally to the occupied areas of Cyprus from Turkey’s Black Sea region, Mr Eroglu said that everybody’s duty is to defend the “TRNC”, breakaway regime in the occupied areas of Cyprus, and added: “The important thing is for the TRNC people to defend its own state. We have this understanding when we govern. Let a person come from wherever he wants, as long as he is Turk, adopts the citizenship of the TRNC and defends the TRNC state. This is our slogan, our view”. Mr Eroglu said that he supports that the settlers from Turkey should live in the occupied areas in tranquillity and security. I find it insulting, and reflective of the self-interested attitude the TCs have displayed during the course of our joint-histories, that it is not the fact that bringing settlers here is morally and legally wrong, but what bothers the TCs is the "quality" of the Settlers which are proving unlike the "pure Turks" the TCs were expecting but from such groups as Alevis and Kurds.

Perhaps he's shot himself in the foot (or shot TCs) ... but it sounds like a Eulogy to TCs. The TC is dead! No longer are there any TCs in Cyprus; and when we throw out the Settlers there will be amongst them, inevitably, the phased-out/ex TCs ...

You mean he spent more money than other candidates by handing out hard cash to people to vote for him.

"True Democracy" at work, "trnc" style, of course, where corruption is the norm it seems with the above method of buying votes for cash in the modern age of Democratic EU countries it wants to join.!
