Although I had a mate who drove his van around on UK plates for years because of some hold up in the registration system... He eventually shipped it back to the UK without it ever having CY plates...

Isn't it true that if you are moving into Cyprus, you are allowed to bring your posesions duty free including one car? Duty is for bringing in cars and selling them on?
When I last checked with the north that was how it was explained to me. Is that not the case both north and south?

Shipping a car back to the UK and registering a grey import is a costly nightmare.
1400 euros to ship £1429 GBP to SVA. M.O.T, Register and Tax, insurance on grey imports is also expensive whe you do find a company that will cover you.

What's a grey import?
