"This work has been discredited."

This is a new way to have a look into history.
If really all Cypriots have nearly the same roots, may be this is a way out of this mess?

You say you are a geneticist or familiar? Then find out how old it is, find out the sample number, find out which genes he had preselected and how the results were interpreted. Let me know what you conclude from the original data plus Materials and Methods.

No one references this source anymore, except racists, and probably any new studies which show how not to make assumptions from such studies..

You can search the forum, I think I debated this at length (with refs) to pyrpolizer (over a year ago), but ... I am not interested in wasting time with dissecting outdated poorly conducted research. It was probably useful for transfusion studies, but not the meta-use to which it was later applied.

There are a great deal of better sources which need collating to historical events and migrations which I would spend time on, but I can't go into anything scientific in depth at the moment....

BTW welcome evgenia and can you explain:

Why would seeking a "genetic" solution give us a way out of this mess?

Are you familiar with Hitler's methods? (Something to do with excuses for ethnic cleansing. )
Do you approve of Turkey ethnically cleansing the GCs from the north? Or should we form a Democratic country were every legal citizen is individually equal despite their ethnic background?

In 1990 samples from Turkish Cypriot, Greek Cypriot, mainland turks and mainland greeks were tested in the US by professor Huisman.

Genetic illness and DNA expert Dr. Erol Baysal with the assistance of english, turkish, cypriot and greek experts conducted the work, and found that the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot DNA was very close.

Even though the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot see the mainland as there genetic source they are very far apart and also very different and that certain codes in the DNA which can only be found in cypriots was conclusive proof that Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot were the only ones that have this DNA.

Even though it was always assumed that Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot were close this showed they were much closer than could be anticipated.

Does that mean Cypriots are something very special ?

Your just repeating some nonsense thats has been posted a 1000 times before.

Dr. Erol Baysal

Hasn't Oracle (who is an expert) already trashed this several times over?

Anyway, even if this is true, it just goes to show that most TCs were GCs that converted to Islam. So basically they are fake Turks!

Now you are saying we come from Taiwan?
What next honestly?

Evgenia I wrote that two weeks ago and they called me a racist. The reality is that Turkish Cypriots are not really Turkish they were Greeks who converted to Islam to avoid paying taxes to the Ottoman Empire.

And how many of those did the kind Ottomans allow to "convert" to Islam without a second thought to the revenue they would lose?
