In 1990 samples from Turkish Cypriot, Greek Cypriot, mainland turks and mainland greeks were tested in the US by professor Huisman.

Genetic illness and DNA expert Dr. Erol Baysal with the assistance of english, turkish, cypriot and greek experts conducted the work, and found that the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot DNA was very close.

Even though the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot see the mainland as there genetic source they are very far apart and also very different and that certain codes in the DNA which can only be found in cypriots was conclusive proof that Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot were the only ones that have this DNA.

Even though it was always assumed that Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot were close this showed they were much closer than could be anticipated.

Does that mean Cypriots are something very special ?

Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot DNA is also very close to Lebanese and Greek DNA.

So what's your point? :?

The historical evidence do not support these findings. According to the TCs, their ancestors are Turks who came from Asia Minor after the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus. Is that a myth? Are all/most TCs Greek Cypriots who were forced to become Muslims in order to pay less taxes and have a better life? Because that is the only way that the DNA could be as close as it is claimed. There were definitely not a large amount of inter-communal marriages due to religion differences.

Please stop demoralising our superior GC cousins. They have no time for any scientific work except what is written in the GO Bible.

Well what I understand so far and please correct me, if I am wrong: The ottoman empire was more or less an occupying force like the Romans only small number settled and the biggest part went back home, after the collapse.

Cyprus DNA doesn't show the typical Altai pattern.

Iam tested. Is somebody else too?

Your just repeating some nonsense thats has been posted a 1000 times before.

Dr. Erol Baysal

Hasn't Oracle (who is an expert) already trashed this several times over?

Anyway, even if this is true, it just goes to show that most TCs were GCs that converted to Islam. So basically they are fake Turks!

Why is this important to you? :?

So far, you don't even make much sense.

As you can see, Cypriots are a very close match to Greeks, Lebanese(Pheonician), Albanian, and EUR SiC (Sicilians).

And yes, all members of the human race are special, not just Cypriots.

This work has been discredited.
There was pre-selection for the markers!

Besides, only a lay-person would put any value on single gene studies. In particular, environmental genes which are highly-mutable to adapt to changing environments, where wholly unsuitable to be used to draw such conclusions which could only satisfy racists.

ok

@ Oracle from whom? Can you tell me the source?

"This work has been discredited."

This is a new way to have a look into history.
If really all Cypriots have nearly the same roots, may be this is a way out of this mess?
