Perhaps Greek nationalist cunts like you are giving Turkey a good excuse to stay put! You certainly gave her the excuse to invade...

What was the "excuse" for Turkey's (failed) invasion attempt in 1964?

There was none. Aerial bombings are not an invasion.

Are you saying aerial bombings against another sovereign country are OK then?

No, you're assuming that.

I know the definition of invasion. What I asked was are you saying its ok?

I already said "no"!

Technical correctness is important when expressing one’s self in political debates; hence, an aerial bombardment should not be confused with an “invasion”.

Are you going to answer my request?

But, how can you distinguish between a "failed invasion" (what I called 1964) and "aerial bombings" (what you called 1964)?

How many times must we inform that Turkey did NOT own any military personnel landing craft to launch an earlier invasion?

I never called 64 an invasion. What I asked was whether you were excusing that action because it wasn't a full blown invasion. I;m very aware of technical correctness...I also realise you're a bit of a bigshot on this fourm so I wouldn't want to get on your bad side.

.....its just that your post still seemed to be dissapointed that there was no EOKA B to justify the bombings.

Turkey has no rights on Cyprus, period! Turks are imperialists. They think the world would forget their crimes. It's been 85 years they stole Symrna, Constantinople, and Ponita and we never forgot! It is almost 90 years they committed genocide against 4 million Orthodox Christians and the world hasn't forgot. So they think we will forget that they invaded a defensive island for no reason? NEVER.

That's for the Roman Empire to worry about, not Greek nationalist fools who confuse reality with mythology.

Constantinople is the holy city for all Eastern Orthodoxy you fool. What language was spoken during the Byzantine Empire? Look in real history books. It was Greek. Rome they spoke Latin. I told you Turks gave you an inferior history.

You've lost me. :?

The 1974 bombings were a prelude to a "failed invasion".

Simply crossing into Aegean airspace (for example), nowadays, is seen as a threat by Greece; so why wouldn't actual bombings of Cyprus be a prelude to a full scale invasion, by Turkey, at a later date?

Whatever, Turkey still would have represented a mounting threat after this "aerial bombing" if allowed to continue, over the years, until Turkey would eventually, one day, succeed ... hence the junta's desire to take Cyprus under its wing ....

Constantinople is Greek. Look what the barbarian Turks did to this beautiful Greek city. They destroyed it. What happened to Agia Sophia? They painted over the icons. Their paint is peeling and what do we see? The Greek Orthodox icons shining through. Just as Jimmy Carter said," Which is the true religion?"

So, they didn't think it through? :?

What were they doing at Kokkina then if not preparing for military personnel landing craft to be able to arrive?
