Your post raises the question: are we negotiating for the least "bad" solution or are the two communities trying to get the best possible solution to serve the interests of the whole?

I do not have an answer and the question is not rhetorical. If after all that has happened since 1959 we are hoping to achieve something as good as the Zurich agreements then we are not doing well. Are the two leaders negotiating a solution for the whole of Cyprus or each trying to get the best for his community?

Listening to the two leaders face the press after each meeting I note that of the two Christofias is more communicative to the "other" community. Talat is still behaving as if GCs are not even an audience let alone a community of Cyprus. I am not criticising the attitude, simply note it as part of the communication technique of each negotiator.

After the latest statements by Erdoghan I want to see Talat's response. He has some serious prestige and credibility problems to face considering the two states and settler position so cynically put in New York.
