We GCs owe our entire existence to the Orthodox Church,

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

We GCs owe our entire existence to the Orthodox Church,

Had it not been so effective during those hundreds of years of occupation, we would be all be Turks and there would actually be no problem in Cyprus.

There have been a number of threads directed by so called CG "intellectuals" who have moked the one institution that has preserved them.

You wouldn't even exist if it was not for Jesus Christ and our Church - we would be weak and the Cyprob would not even exist today.

We are Christians and that is our strength and even hundreds of years of islamic occupation did not change us!

The moment we forget this - what we fighting for?

At least our occupied ancestors had something honorable to believe in and fight for ...

Not a bad argument, except the other day they were all bragging that they were all atheists!

Well that's because you are assuming people of today are the same as people of hundreds of years ago.

 Idiots .... If you are going to make historical references, you have to interpret them in contexts and not evaluate by today's standards what was practiced years ago.

Besides no one said Jesus saved us  ... it was the cultural unity provided by the Church, more than anything to do with Jesus, which undeniably helped survival against the Turks.

Ask the Spanish about their struggles with the Moors ...

I only wish the people of today had the resolve of our ansestors, who through the Church preserved our heritage, culture and language.

We are a lesser people if we turn our back on the one institution that preserved us and defines us.

The Church should continue its role as historian and preserver of ancient traditions as a means of continuing cultural unity; because, Cyprus is small and vulnerable in terms of population.

But politically, they don't have a role.

So you should be, because the Orthodox Church has proven to preserved us in the past and if we got into trouble in the future it would be the only thing that can preserve in the future.

No amount of GC intellect will get us through and we must preserve the one institution that defines and will ultimately preserve us for ever - and has proven so.
