We GCs owe our entire existence to the Orthodox Church,

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It's not a dirty word. Cyprus is no less of a Greek island than Crete or Rhodes; both were eventually unified with the patrida, and both were rid of the non-Greek "guests" that once lived there. And so it one day will be with Cyprus when the time is right.

Hello James :D

I absolutely agree with you, it's not a dirty word ... but I hate it when the Turks jump in and abuse it as such. So, I thought I would preserve its "sanctity" for once

But given that James has the IQ of a reticulated Ostrich… how do you explain his “Aristotelian” shortcomings? :?

I hink James in another Choirokitian when it comes to 'intelligentsia'....

James’ delusions have promoted him from simple Choirokitian to Greek mythological proportions!

This has NOTHING to do with the bogus "Cyprus is Greek" notion, and everything to do with Greece's good propaganda machine aided by the very poor Ottoman management of Cyprus.

You mean like no one is interfering or undermining it right now?

How so?

Cypriots have their own country, and it is flourishing, so why should we have ENOSIS with another country and undermine our very own independence as well as bring upon "permanent partition"?

Paphitis wrote:Cyprus is an EU member, and that's all that matters.

James rote:
We've been over the reason why Cyprus is in the EU many times. Events since 2004 should also go a long way to helping anyone who is interested to understand exactly who is underwriting the very existence of Cyprus, and who who rather it just disappeared (hint: in the EU, the ratio is about 25-to-1). And let's not forget a few very powerful non EU actors who would also prefer to see Cyprus disappear.

I have no idea what your talking about? :?

James rote:
What do you suppose the EU would do if our guests decided to overrun the rest of the island (except of course the UK sovereign bases)? The EU has no military, and no mandate to deploy their armed forces within the EU for any purpose. 50% of Cyprus' guarantors within the EU are 100% committed to Cyprus' destruction, just like the Brits were committed to the destruction of the Hellenic character of the "Septinsular Republic" in the 19th century, and the Italians were committed to the destruction of the Hellenic character of the Dodecanese in the 20th century.

The EU is an adequate insurance policy against everything you mention above.

I endorse Hellenism in Cyprus, but this by no means has anything to do with your fascist ideals on ENOSIS.

Your dream is over...

James rote:
Ok - here's a challenge for the "Cyprus is not Greek crowd". Explain to us how Cyprus was any different to the Ionian Islands in 1864, to Crete in 1913, or to Rhodes in 1947, vis a vis Enosis with Greece.

No one is saying that Cyprus is not Hellenic.

But The Republic of Cyprus is sanctimonious, and we don't want to be ruled by anyone else any more.

We are independent, and Cyprus is doing just fine as an EU state.

That's rich coming from the guy who drowns destitute afghan boat people for a living.

I sleep easy sunshine, because what we do has saved many lives, including those "poor" Afghan boat people...

Is the standard for entering the public service in Australia that low? Do you have any idea what you're saying?

So you're on the public purse...but not a public servant. In other words, just a parasite on the taxpayer.

How pray tell are you protecting me? And in what way do you suppose I'm little?

I work for Private interests contracted to the Government, but not that it is of your concern.

But yes, you tax money pays for my very healthy pay packet + benefits. So thank you for your contribution to the Paphitis early retirement fund.... :D

My private life and career is not your concern...
