Please VOTE! Here is your opportunity to vote for what you believe about this specific issue. Here, you need not submit to other people's demands. You have the choice. The reason of this vote is to see the current overall position of Cyprus forum members.

Only one vote per person and please indicate whether you are GC, TC, T colonists, UK, US, EU or other, if possible.

What has NO to this got to do with being Turkish Cypriot? It has more to do with respect for human rights. Many TC's would like their homes back, am I correct? I suppose Turkish colonists and some other current owners who had never owned much in Cyprus might not think that way though.

-------

There are only two options in Cyprus - reunification or partition. The path for Cypriots or the path to alignment to motherland Turkey or Greece. You must decide which, politically (I mean not in language or religion) , as a Cypriot or a Turk. There is no comfortable half way, not until all these disputes are resolved. If you choose a peaceful future based on reconciliation, firstly, you must start with recognition, denunciation and reversal of the past human rights abuses and mis-education on both sides. Otherwise, cracks will soon show in any settlement.

Many TC's would like ! Yes ! But in real world all things are not possible!

When we look to Cyprus' situation now returning to properties completly is not possible. This is valid for both GCs and Tcs.

So refugees should have some and for left they should take compensation!

Cos now there are people who are living there. To give all the properties to real owners instead of compensating some, you need to build new houses to all of them.Till new houses build real owners can't return.
Also who will build thousands of houses to all of them?

Also TCs properties are ruined and most of them nationalized by goverment. This means most of the Tcs can't return back to their properities! what will the ones do whose property ruined ? They should take compensation for damage!

I agree. You should give the stolen properties back to their legally owners, but also pay compensation for 30 years that they didn't manage to use their own property because of the illegal occupation, and also compensation to restore their properties because you ruined them.

I completely agree and I'm not kidding but we have to start this compensation process from 1960s. You might not know this but there are TCs who were refugees 3 times! First in 1955 when EOKA attacked to some TC viillages. Then in 1963 after the intercommunal violence, and then in 1974. And some of these people agreed to be refugees again with the Annan plan, 4th time!!! So let's compensate all refugees, GC and TC, starting from 1950s.
