How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

WE MAY COME FACE TO FACE WITH A GREEK-CYPRIOT FAVOURED PLAN

Postby halil » Wed Sep 23, 2009 10:22 pm

Tension goes hotter than hot very lately in our political arena in Northern Cyprus ........ Is it because of coming TRNC Presidency elections or Is it for next coming referendum........ to get ready for NO...........

WITH FOREIGN INTERVENTION, WE MAY COME FACE TO FACE WITH A GREEK-CYPRIOT FAVOURED PLAN’

TRNC Prime Minister Dervis Eroğlu opposes to a resolution plan that is going to be brought through foreign intervention.

The Premier warns that the Turkish side may come face to face with a new resolution plan that is going to satisfy only the demands of the Greek Cypriot Leader Dimitris Christofias, if foreign powers are included in the Cyprus solution process.

Dervis Eroglu’s remarks came in response to President Mehmet Ali Talat who earlier said there couldn’t be a ‘Cypriot’ solution since the Cyprus problem had gained an international dimension.

Speaking before entering today’s meeting of Council of Ministers, Mr Eroglu said such remarks could open the way to foreign intervention, adding that it should be the two sides in Cyprus to agree on a resolution plan.

Expressing his desire towards the maintenance of the Cyprus peace process, he said “we need negotiations in order to reach a settlement but this does not mean that we will give the Greek Cypriot Side everything it wants, as if we are desperately in need of a political settlement”.

Does he mean that having 40 plus thousand Turkish soldiers on the north is NOT "foreign inervention"?

How did this yoyo ever get elected?

The leader of the opposition Democrat Party Serdar Denktas has called on President Mehmet Ali Talat to spend the same good amount of efforts to meet the satisfaction of both his party and the National Unity Party, like the way he has been following to satisfy the Greek Cypriot Leader.

Speaking on Bayrak TV first channel, the DP Leader said serious problems of dialogue and conciliation exist between the President and his party.
He claimed that the President had brought proposals to the negotiation table ignoring the views of political parties.

On Greek Cypriot Leadership’s attitude, he complained that the Greek Cypriot Leader saw the proposals brought by the Turkish Side as a threat to the so-called Republic of Cyprus as he accepted the Turkish Side as a Muslim minority, not as an equal partner.

Re Halil, will you give us a rest! At least add a comment to these pasted bits of priceless wisdom!

When has Christofias EVER refererred to the TCs as a "moslem minority"? Does no one up there ask questions when a polician spouts nonsense?

Like I said, yoyos, first there was on now there is another one.

I pray that a fair solution for us is at hand. All Greeks allowed to return to their homes. All Turkish settlers to return to their homes!!! Turkish army to leave our island never to return. Is that too much to ask for. I don't think so!!

If Turkey wants partition I am all for it. Let's partition Turkey. Constantinople, Symrna, Pontia partitioned Greece and Cyprus. Northern Turkey partition to Armenia. Eastern Turkey to be partition to Kurdistan. Southern Turkey to be partition to Assyria. The rest of Turkey belongs to the Turks. I think this is fair don't you?

You still have spare wishes left. Perhaps we can walk to the moon and back singing a lullaby. Perhaps. That's not a lot to ask for.

Tension was still hot on TRNC political arena today again ..........

How difficult for Talat to work at talks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...........................................................................................................

The Cyprus Turkish Platform has demanded the formation of a new negotiation team to act as a multi-party “Cyprus Turkish National Council” at the Cyprus negotiation process.

In a written statement, the Platform’s Press Secretary Huseyin Alasya claimed that the political equality of two founding states as sovereign states was not discussed during the negotiation process and called on President Mehmet Ali Talat to put the Turkish side’s sine qua nons at the table.

Commenting on the Turkish Side’s proposals and the statements made by members of the negotiation team, he claimed that members of the team were representatives of certain political ideology and that they were not representing the will of the Cyprus Turkish People.

He said ‘they are misleading our people. They are trying to present the election of members of the Presidential Council from the so-called “single list” as political equality’.
