Were Sumerians proto-Turks?

Many sources cite that Hittites were a Hurrian tribe that is mostly believed r the ancestors of Kurds. How come? Hurrian was an ural-altaic language but Kurdish is an indo-european language...

Any ideas abt who were Sumerians, Hurrians, Hittites and who could be their most possible descendants?

the Sumerians werent proto-Turks.

This is the first time I have heard anything about the Sumerian and Hittite languages having ural-altaic words in their languages.

The Hittite language was Indo-European.

The Hurrian language was not Ural-Altaic either.

the Kurds are meant to be descended from the Medes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medes.

the descendants of the Sumerians can be found mostly amongst the modern day southern Iraqi Arab population.

the Hurrians/Hittites became abosrbed into other Anatolian civilizations. Their descendants today can mostly be found amongst Anatolian Turks and Armenians. Some Kurds probably are also descended from them.

So how can we sum up so far ... :?

There were a number of diverse groups in what we now know as "Turkey" such as the Greeks, the Hurrians, the Hittites, early Kurds, Armenians, Iranians .... and then at about 1200 CE the Seljuk Turks invaded from the east having been driven out, away from Mongolia ... and they destroyed the populations to near extinction and then replaced them with their own ... only to find that enough of the earlier inhabitants survived into the 20th century to mix up the DNA until a few million were Genocided by Ataturk et al and now we have "modern Turkey" which has stolen a few words from the earlier peoples ...

Now I am really confused. The above points to the Hittites passing their language to the Turks. Who taught the Kazaks to speak Turkish? The Hittites moved east?

Nikitas, these issues that date back some 5-6 thousands of years backwards r too complicated and it's not easy to sum up briefly. You need to click on the links and take a look. Then I'm sure u will find it interesting to read the whole text. When u read the articles and scientific researches; u will have a better idea what's what.

Now the Turks think they are Sumerians? What a laugh. Turks get real you are nomads of Turkmenistan. Barbarians no culture. No history. Stop stealing other people's culture and claim it as your own. This just proves that Turkey's educational system sucks.

Insan
You can quote all you want about Turkish Kazakh relations and no doubt on a governmental level you may be correct but I'm talking about the ordinary man/women in the street. Several major Turkish companies had to pull their people out of Kazakstan as they couldn't guarrentee their safety. There have been several major riots against the Turks. The pictures on Turkish TV news wasn't a movie; in fact I was there and saw the riots with my own eyes. I witnessed some good decent Turkish men badly beaten and also some good, decent Kazakh people hurt trying to protect them so I'm speaking from what I've seen, not from what I've read.
