The Turks are not very popular out there and the wish of Inzan for a "Greater Turkic Confederation" is a non starter; I think the Kazakhs made their feelings known about that during the riots there a couple of years ago. I read that the Mongols drove the Turkic tribes west when they started their expansion from Mongolia so to say that the Turkish are from Mongolia is not correct

They says HEDEF is TURAN..........

Naribaev M. K.
Cooperation Kazakhstan – Turkey as an constituent part of integration processes
Journal "Vestnik KazGU". Serial of Economic Siences. Almaty, Kazakhstan, 1999, №1.

The world community points out that Kazakhstan and Turkey, large Euro-Asian states, are consistently striving for the acceleration and deepening the process of multilateral integration among the countries of the continent. Both Turkey, allied with the countries of EU, and Kazakhstan, influential and one of the leading states of the CIS, are promoting fruitful cooperation between the two large political and economic formations on the continent. Kazakhstan also has close contacts with the EU. And it testifies that our relations are based not only on bilateral but on multilateral cooperation within such authoritative international and regional institutions as the UNO, OSCE, ECO, ICO (Islamic Conference Organization) and EU. This process is regarded as the process enhancing integration, a greater share being given to the economic aspect.

VISITING TURKISH MILITARY DELEGATION UNVEILS AID TO KAZAKHSTAN
A visiting delegation of senior officers from the Turkish General Staff announced on 28 November a new $900,000 aid package for the Kazakh armed forces, "Kazakhstan Today" reported. In comments following a meeting in Astana with the visiting Turkish officers, senior officials from the Kazakh Defense Ministry reported that the Turkish military aid consists of unspecified "modern military equipment." The aid is the latest in a bilateral military-aid-and-training program with Turkey; it follows an earlier provision of more than $6 million in equipment to the Kazakh armed forces. The Turkish delegation also signed a similar bilateral agreement on military cooperation with neighboring Kyrgyzstan on 25 November

Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov meets Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Koksal Toptan

The parties dwelt on a wide range of issues related to dynamically developing Kazakh-Turkish relations, trade-and-economic and culture cooperation, including strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties.

October 21 at the Government’s House in Astana, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Koksal Toptan.

The parties dwelt on a wide range of issues related to dynamically developing Kazakh-Turkish relations, trade-and-economic and culture cooperation, including strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties.

Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister noted that “the relations established between the two governments and parliaments lay a solid foundation for expanding bilateral relations between the nations”.

When talking on strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, K. Toptan expressed confidence in their successful enhancement given the initiative voiced by President Nazarbayev at the VIII summit of heads of turkophonic states to establish Parliament Assembly of turkophonic states.

The parties pointed to positive dynamics of bilateral relations between their nations and reiterated interest to further development of cooperation.

900 000 dollars is about enough to fuel a jet for a single flight. No wonder the details were not specified, there was not enough of them to fill one sheet of paper.

The main question is when TC developers will move in to Kazakhstan and start selling villas to the British. That should alleviate the Cyprob muy pronto.
