(British) Soldiers too tired to battle the Taliban

Shock leaked report shows British troops are exhausted even before they reach the battlefields of Afghanistan.

The paper, written by a senior Army officer, also slams a shortage of vital equipment such as mine detectors. And a second report reveals a "catastrophic" collapse of communications systems.

Footage exposes abuse in ‘Britain’s Abu Ghraib’

Damning footage of British soldiers mistreating an Iraqi detainee was released today as the Iraqi’s lawyers urged the High Court to grant a sweeping inquiry into allegations of systematic abuse at “Britain’s Abu Ghraib”.

Some 222 former detainees claim that they were tortured and mistreated while in British military detention in southern Iraq between March 2003 and December 2008. The number is expected to rise as more people come forward.

Michael Fordham, QC, appearing for the Iraqis, told the High Court: “There are credible allegations of serious, inhuman practices across the range of dates and facilities with which British military detention in Iraq was concerned.”

Britain aiding and abetting Israeli war criminals…

What is Universal Jurisdiction?

UK to change law affecting state visits

LONDON – Britain's government has promised to change a law that allows private groups and activists to obtain an arrest warrant for visiting foreign officials regarding alleged war crimes.
The principle, known as "universal jurisdiction," has been used by pro-Palestinian activists in Britain to seek the arrest of Israeli officials planning to visit Britain, and that has created tension between the UK and Israel.

'I was wrong,' admits historian over claims of Malaya massacre

Demand for inquiry into alleged 1948 atrocity by UK troops

A public inquiry into one of Britain's darkest postwar military incidents, the alleged massacre of 24 unarmed villagers by UK troops in Malaya, has moved a step closer after the official British historian of the "Malayan emergency" last week withdrew his account of the 1948 incident. Professor Anthony Short said his initial report absolving British troops was "wrong".
