I am sure you don't really understand the sad excuse for an answer which you cut&pasted ... but the three languages on the Rosetta stone are Hieroglyph-Egyptian, Ancient Greek and Demotic Greek.
The Ancient Greek is >80% identical to the Greek of today (more so than Old English is to Modern English) and the Demotic Greek is >90% identical to the Greek dialects spoken today.
So, which of the three languages on the Rosetta stone applies to the "FYROM-ians" ... would it be Hieroglyphics, perhaps?Professor Boshevski: We believe that the Ancient Macedonian language is a precursor not only to most modern Balkan languages but also to all of today's Slavic languages. We believe, and time will prove this, that all these languages have descended from the Ancient Macedonian language. Let's say that the Ancient Macedonian language is a proto-Slav language.
On the other hand, international community and UN accept that independent peoples of the world have the right to define their languages no matter how similar or how distinct they r from other languages. Why Macedonian language bothers Greeks that much?
Nothing "bothers" Greeks that much.
As for languages ... they are like Maths ... the data is all there for comparative analysis, wherever written records exist ... and the Rosetta stone and Greek and "FYROM-ish" can all be compared and evaluated independently.
