If it is indeed a group affiliated to Al-Qaeda responsible for this attack, which increasingly looks like it is, then it does show that they can strike anywhere. The problem with major cities like London, Madrid et al, is that they are intrinsically vulnerable to attacks on the transport network. The only way to secure cities would be to seriously infringe both the rights of their citizens and the ability of their economies to function - which is exactly what the terrorists want and would be a prize for them. Having worked in London and used the transport network for a number of years, the vulnerabilities were obvious, it was just a case of hoping that our security services would find out before such an event could take place. This time, they got through. If someone's determined enough, no level of security is enough. I just hope that this doesn't augur a campaign of such bombings and also hope that they apprehend those who carried this out as soon as possible and they receive the punishment they deserve (sadly I don't think the third will happen, but as long as they're caught).

How dare you claim that the British state would allow London to be crippled, 300 people seriously injured and 33+ killed just to provoke hatred against Muslim. Aaarggh, people like you... Cannedmoose, I wont take back what I said. I am not claiming, of course that the prime mininister Tony Blair and Gordon Brown yesterday decided to let this attack happen. Of course not! What I am telling is that some very small but very strong fractions in the deep state might ignore this. Simple as that!

I think I couldnt make myself clear . What I am talking about is not state as a whole. Surely not and more importantly I have no hatred against anyone especially to British.
