Good mark ups don't last like the above. I used to work for a company who sold PC's at a mark up of around £150 per unit. When I left, they were lucky to get £15.

With everyone scrapping around for business I am going to exploit this and make the most of it.

Funnily enough the importing of clothing from Europe to Cyprus works well. Mark ups are well into the 60% bracket with little or no price cutting at retail.
I was unaware you were having a go at the Cypriot market, good luck to you mate.

I don't think it is quite so simple here, especially as as soon as somebody gets wind of what you are up to, you will be shopped. Now that you have advertised it here on the forum.....?

As I said earlier in the thread, I think you will also need some kind of licence from the Government to act as a tour guide.

If you are happy to be on the "Dark Side" you may get away with it, but if you get caught, you will have all sorts of problems, the least of which will be your transportation going up in a puff of smoke one night!

Over here smaller companies who can't front the contract themselves back it off to suppliers/companies who can.

Like dealing with NHS you have to be on certain buying groups to be able to supply the goods/services. Even if the customer wants to deal with you if you are not on the list then you cant deal with them. To get round this, you have to partner up with a supplier who is on the 'list'. Is this the same with regards to the above???

I know exactly what you are talking about as I have been involved in tendering to the UK Government for large IT contracts, but I don't think this is relevant in this case. Getting into bed with somebody here for this kind of work is going to take a big sized chunk of the profits and probably price the service out of the market. If you can set it up by yourself, then you have a chance of doing all right. The problem will be complying with the law if you want to be legal, but if you don't, just get on with it until you upset someone.

I don't think it is a very good idea to walk on the dark side, but we do like to get to know the local people and were posible bring more customers to them that way every one gets a slice of the pie and as we do not intend to go head to head this the other companies I would hope that we would pick up customers that do not like that safari jeep rides.we would pass on the people who wanted that sort of day out.
we do this in england and it works very well.
and as for pig farming the only pork I like is when its on my plate with veg
