The Cypriot National Anthem

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The Cypriot National Anthem

Postby Omer Seyhan » Tue Sep 22, 2009 1:13 am

Wouldn't this be great as our national anthem?

Long live Cyprus, raise your arms, sons
of the Cypriot people,
who are rising again.
Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the blue of the sea the path of the sun.
Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the blue of the sea the path of the sun.
Cyprus triumphs! The anvils and wheels
sing to the rhythm
of the hymn of the faith.
Cyprus triumphs! The anvils and wheels
sing to the rhythm
of the hymn of the faith.
Together with them let's stand and sing
the new powerful life of labour and peace.
Together with them let's stand and sing
the new powerful life of labour and peace.
Long live Cyprus, raise your arms, sons
of the Cypriot people,
who are arising again.
Long Live Cyprus, raise your arms, sons
of the Cypriot people,
who are arising again.
Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the blue of the sea the path of the sun.
Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the blue of the sea the path of the sun.

Ooooooh you said 'blue'. Don't know if the TC will like that. What's more, don't know if the Omonia fans will like it either lol

The sea is generally blue but I take your point.

Here is a revised version:

Long live Cyprus, raise your arms, sons
of the Cypriot people,
who are rising again.
Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the brown of the sea the path of the sun.
Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the brown of the sea the path of the sun.
Cyprus triumphs! The anvils and wheels
sing to the rhythm
of the hymn of the faith.
Cyprus triumphs! The anvils and wheels
sing to the rhythm
of the hymn of the faith.
Together with them let's stand and sing
the new powerful life of labour and peace.

the new powerful life of labour and peace.
Long live Cyprus, raise your arms, sons
of the Cypriot people,
who are arising again.

Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the brown of the sea the path of the sun.

Here's a better revision :

Arkası gelmez dertlerimin bıktım Illallah,
(my sufferings never ends, I'm fed up illalah)

Biri biterken öbürü de başlar vermesin Allah
(when one of them ends, the other one starts,God forbid!)

Böyle gelmiş böyle gidecek korkarım Allah
(it's come like that, will go like that,im afraid, God!)

Yok mu çaresi dostlar fesupanallah
(isn't there a solution, friends? fesupanallah )

Alemin keyfi yerinde yine Maşallah
(people have joy again Maşallah)

Bize de bir gün kader güler güler inşallah
(I hope the destiny smiles at me one day..smiles inşallah)

You disgusting Turk!

I can interpret that "poem" for those fooled by your "innocent" suggestion to change our Anthem.

Omer Seyhan wrote:Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,

Your "Fatherland" is your Baba Turkey that we hear so much about from the likes of "kill more GCs"-Gabira.

Omer Seyhan wrote:Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the blue of the sea the path of the sun.

..."knew how to follow" ... follow you TCs to INVADE our shores!

Omer Seyhan wrote:Glory to the Fatherland that knew how to follow,
over the blue of the sea the path of the sun
.

.... followed the path of the sun!

That confirms it .. you bloody Turk! .... Turkey came from the east following the path of the sun to the more westerly Cyprus...

YOU DISGUST ME!

Leave our Anthem alone and take your Turkish brothers and Φuck off back to your Fatherland, in the opposite direction of the path of the sun!.

I will repeat that we must stop care on what Turks are doing and to focus of what we and our leaders are doing.

Fatherland

Fatherland is the nation of one's "fathers", "forefathers" or "patriarchs". It can be viewed as a nationalist concept, insofar as it relates to nations.

Who is that disgusting "Greek" claiming the otherwise?
