being stopped by the police and having them take money from me... they only wanted 100 grivnes though.

It was still your money though wasnt it?
Not for anyone to take without permission, i hate that sort of shit, poor you..ive got some arsehole driving round cy in one of my cars 12,000 euro car, and has been for the past 3 months or so...a car sales man bought it, i mean has stolen it..he sold it on my behalf and has kept the cash!!!

i dident care about the money just the fact that the police where corrupt and shaking people down for money..

12.000?!?! ouch cant u take him to court or something get your money back?

The car has still the original number plates in the front and a telephone number on the rear plates.

When travelling in such countries, the trick is to always carry your passport and wallet in a different pocket.

Always have a $100US (sometimes a $50 will do, or even less) note in your passport. When you are stopped by the police, for whatever reason, and you think you might be in trouble, then give them your passport with the $100US note inside.

The corrupt officer will take the note and let you be on your way.

This has got me out of trouble in places like Indonesia and Thailand.

I must say, that I have never felt the need to use such a tactic in Cyprus or Greece. :)

thanks for the tip.. i was very nervous to give the man money i mean its something i see in movies i dident expect it to happen to me to be stopped for money.. in england or another country even cyprus the police would arrest you if you try bribe them
