"bell-bottoms"! What Saddos used to wear those?

They were Flairs , usually got from Dicikie Dirts.

No Oracle, not drip dry cotton. ALthough lazy about most things, I do know how to iron shirts.

Bill, you are right, it was flares, I forgot the term and the difference between the two. Bell bottoms were for the more radical elements.

Southend was not a family destination. It was for single and unattached guys bored out of their box. It must be the dullest place I have ever been to, once!

It was that visit to Southend that decided the issue- stay in the UK or the other alternative, anywhere else. I chose the latter. It gives me the heebie jeebies to remember those amusement arcades and "restaurants".

Usually the South Coast for us. Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings etc with a picnic on the beach of batiha, koftes, boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber etc
