Local cup match against a bunch of thugs from Lancashire. I have trained with the team twice this week, fitness wise I am good but the feet are a little slow. I have been asked to play in mid-field and try and up the tempo of the game, easier said the done.
By the way, the team I am playing for have several badly injured players so hence I got the call. Wish me luck, I have good insurance to cover any accidents.

Good luck and watch those brittle bones heh.

We lost 1-2. Started well if a little fast and furious. I came off after 10 minutes with a bloody face missing half of one of my front teeth (expensive dentist visit on Monday). Came back on after some treatment from a cold wet sponge.
The game slowed a little then and I put in a few crunching tackles (pay back for the elbow, sporting non the less). Missed a sitter in the last few minutes, then hit the bar but no goal. I think now my playing days are over, too much bad language, back chat and spitting. Yes my legs are sore, so is my mouth, head, arms and groin.
Was asked to play again on Wednesday which brought on a panic attack. From now on I will keep fit but keep well away from local football. I may take up needlepoint in the winter months.

My fault; sorry. I should have warned you to watch your teeth as well as your brittle bones.

Never mind. Plenty acrylic/porcelain around.

Congatulations for taking part.

Thanks Deniz.
Mr Pirate, I was expecting the above with a little more thrown in. Last played nine years ago for the Royal Marines and Combined Services. Local village Cup game today. Idiot, maybe but what the hell I had a go and no real damage done.
