As some people on CF know, I have made a couple of trips to the UK this year to sell some valuable jewellery, to keep my bank balance at a healthy level.

Today, I had a call from a UAE National agreeing to buy another item I have available. The price was agreed but then came the problem of getting the funds/transporting it through registered post to the UAE. It became clear that the only practical course would be for me to fly to Dubai (which I have been to, several times before) and do the deal there, but I costed the flight/hotels and it came out to around €800, even for a brief stay. So I asked for a contribution towards my expenses.

As it stands now, he will pay half of the fare, his driver will pick me up at the airport and take me to Fujairah, which he says is the only remaining traditional Emirate and give me a flying (literally) tour of that Emirate.
So will probably be away for a couple of days.

(Alternatively, he will cut my throat and steal my goods!!).

The UAE is a pretty safe place and I will leave contact details, so I have few fears; if it happens I will fly out Tuesday evening. More news when it is confirmed.
