"Greek Cypriot raid on the Turkish military post"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Another issue is that one day the Turkish guards will shoot at him and there will be a scandal on the way!!

Think guys, think, think. First of all the incident might not be true. But lets suppose it is
How can two Gc soldiers approach 2 TC soldiers? Did they know each other perhaps?
Why the soldiers at sentry did not shoot at them? Were they "friends" perhaps
Why the Gc soldiers just beaten them? In other words just used their hands. A soldier in mission takes at least one military knife with him when attacking.

Exactly, and if these two sentries were paying attention to what was happening around them, how on earth did these soldiers manage to sneak up and beat seven barrels of crud out of them? Where were these sentries rifles, and as MicAtCyp writes, they must have had some sort of close-protection weapon on them, why did they not use them?

The whole story sounds like an urban legend to me. I've looked at every Turkish news site I have bookmarked and not a squeak about it... although I did notice that Turkish inflation now stands at 4.25%, a slight difference to the 115% it stood at 5 years ago when I wrote a country report for my job... :D

Mavronikolas, the Minister of Defense, was in the news last night and he confirmed that such an incident didn't happen.
He also said that the turkish soldiers might have fought between them and blamed the Gc soldiers.

If that incident was true then the turkish media would have them as priority news.

I'm doing a Ph.D. re, the topic of which I've posted elsewhere Dhavlo, but I've copied it below

my thesis is looking at the effect of European Union accession on Cypriot politics (not related to the Cyprus problem), i.e. how they are positioned on the issue, how this positioning has evolved, if the political system is being 'decorporatised' etc. I'm also looking at the impact of the process on Turkish Cypriot politics, as arguably you could say that accession has affected politics in the north to an even greater extent than in the south.
