Capital Punishment

Postby Svetlana » Thu Sep 17, 2009 12:30 pm

We will argue about this endlessly and I am slighty in favour of it, I think, maybe, possibly...

But here is the danger; following the rape and murder of a girl in the UK, many years ago, a guy called Simon Hodgson (a mentally ill homeless man) was found guilty - although released earlier this year, as the case was now considered 'unsafe', after spending 27 years in jail! The Police have now found indisputable evidence that the crime was committed by someone else.

I think I heard this on the radio this morning and I think they said that Simon Hodgson was a pathelogical lier and did confess to the crime. I know that parole boards will not consider for release a person who does not admit and accept their crimes so based on this theory I cannot understand why he spent so much time in custody anyway......

He confessed to many crimes; all of which he did not do and many which had not even taken place - still the local Police force 'got their man'!!!

People who “confess” to crimes they didn’t commit should be jailed anyway for being so criminally stupid.

If we are to jail all the 'criminally stupid', who would be left to post in the Games threads?

I think Kurupetos has hit the nail on the head, even in jest. The poor guy probably wanted some food, warm bed, and a bit of attention.
