:? I hope you're not informing us that you're a computer tech because...

The notion that computers should be chosen on virus susceptibility is daft because a properly setup computer shouldn’t have ANY virus problems!

hackers find it easier to attack window programs and for someone who uses the internet a lot, then it is a basis of consideration.

Don't use Internet Explorer or Outlook, that will cut out a very high percentage of possible viruses, but as GR said, install proper anti-virus software, combined with a reasonable firewall, and you won't have any problems (well, nearly none).

Nonsense! Real "Hackers" aren't interested in home users like Lana.

Had you been a Systems Engineer, one of your many duties would be to extract customer needs so as to select the appropriate hardware and I assure you that viruses are not dealt with at this stage.

On a laptop it’s called a “keypad” not keyboard.

On the bottom left of your keypad you’ll find the “fn” key (function key). While holding the “fn” key down press any of the usually blue-marked keys to access the extra functions such as the backlight and screen dimmer, etc. The backlight’s icon should be a little light bulb or something.
