I did try the 'HELP' file, but as far as I could see, it was not possible.

R-Click on the contact and then "delete"... this is a generic windows principle for all objects.

Sorry GR, I made the wrong question; let me try again:
when I enter, say, an 'S' in the address line of a new mail, I am presented with a drop down list of all people with names begining with 's'. How do I delete those I no longer want?

Are you talking about the Contacts List or The Proper Address file. Only an administartor can edit the proper Address file. The contacts list is easy. Select it and delete it?

I used to support Womens lib in the 70s with a plan that I would convert those from the Lesbos islands and I must admit that I did have a vew successes. That was said with a very low voice young man.

Lana, are you using full Outlook set up within an organisation?

Because if you are you cannot remove them, only the administrator can and only if they have left the organisation. You can use your contacts list in a better way. Send all the people you wish to use into the contact list. When you want to send an email, drag their name from the contacts list into the inbox. It will generate a new email with the persons name in the address box.

Why use outlook, it works so SLOW... and you also have to pay for it. use free and better software like thunderbird, once you get it, you would prefer it. 8)

Always use Firefox and Thunderbird, they run much faster then Microsoft stuff and also don't get targeted so much by viruses, etc.!

Svetlana,

when you press, say 'S', you will get a drop down of all of the cached email adresses beginning with or that contain an 'S'.

Arrow down to the one(s) you do not want so it is highlighted and press delete.
