Now how do I transfer my files and Outlook Address Book to the new machine?

If this is a Windows to Windows transfer…
1. If you don’t already have one, go to a computer shop and purchase a 2m
“Cat-5 Crossover” cable. It looks just like the one you connect to the Internet, with one slight difference your eyes won’t notice.
2. Place the two laptops side by side and turn them on. When Windows settles down, connect each side of the Crossover cable to the network port (Internet port) of each laptop until Windows announces that there’s a network established between them. Use your file manager to see if the laptops see each other’s hard disks.
3. Now go to Outlook of the new laptop and do this… (in version 2003)
File > Import and Export > Import Internet Mail Account Settings
And then...
File > Import and Export > Import Internet Mail and Addresses
4. If you were able to see your files earlier in step 2 then just copy and paste across the hard disks!
