Talat hints that UN talks may fail

First it was Tpap's fault. Now the blame goes to France and Russia. Who is Talat going to blame next? Switzerland?

Turkish Cypriot leader hints that UN talks may fail

http://www.smartbrief.com/news/UN_WIRE/ ... 0F4687EE67

Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat expressed doubts that talks brokered by the UN will result in any agreement between Greece and Turkey over a resolution for the divided island. Talat accused France and Russia of bias in favor of Greek Cyprus. U.S. and European Union officials say a failure by the sides to reconcile would damage Turkey's efforts to enter the EU and its growing relationship with NATO. @VP

(Hi VP, I've just started a thread on CY National Food and Drink in Chat where I post about trahana/tarhana. Could you run your eye over it please and perhaps add a tissy perspective on this popular CY dish?)

I sometimes I cannot help but feel for Talat, even though personally he may want unification as he is absolutely powerless to act against the dictation of Turkish army generals and Edrogan .... he is basically doomed for failure and all he can do is blame others.

Compromise with issues where President Talat cannot say no, force the TC hand and watch the difference.

Bottom line is that Talat is a politician. He may have given the impression of a concilitory sort of chap in the past, but now he's got power and we all know how power corrupts the best of intentions.
