I agree with you Kentish. I have been visiting Cyprus for many years and it disgusts me to see how low some people are. I think this post should be deleted. I have many Turkish friends and many people will agree with me that they are one of the nicest people and should not be disrespected like this. What a shame.

Another thing I would like to bring to the attention of those asking "why do Turks hate Greeks so much?" is that I have not seen any offensive posts about Greeks on the TC forums nor have I heard anything from any of my Turkish friends during my visits to NC. It is only on this forum that I have witnessed such low behaviour. I have many Greek friends as well however they are open-minded sensible people who know the stories of both sides and have learnt to move forward to bring peace instead of digging up old graves because if that is what you people want then I am sure TCs will have lots to say about Greeks as well. All you are doing by putting these disgusting things on the forum is driving tourists away from both sides. Cypriots are known to be friendly and had I not been to both sides so many times, by looking at these posts I would disagree and never step foot on the Island. It`s 2009 my friends, move on!!

Precisely Mr Vick, which is why we want a solution concordant with EU principles and rules but the TC side wants a derogation, wanting to go back to the 19th century when your status (serf, peasant, etc) determined your "rights".

And if the TCs do not want to offend the GCs how do you explain those huge flags, statues of Attaturk and the change of names of every single town and village? Are these the kind of friendly gestures you expect from Europe in 2009?
