whether you poport to be a Greek or Turkish Cypriots, the only true remanents of true Cypriotnus exist only in the UK.

Can the TCs and GCs get along like the respective communties in London?

On apersonal level , yes.

As a community more work need to be done. The problem is many have forgotten how to live as neighbors and many have not had the experience. Unless ofcourse they are returning Charlies.

I can tell you from experience that even in the UK tension is growing. I have been to meetings where the talk is about the Orams and its implications and the Greeks putting pressure on TC businesses. I have no idea as yet what the outcome will be but even the most dedicated to reunification are getting edgy....

Those dedicated to reunification should be pleased that a Cypriot victim has secured justice from British opportunist capitalising on Cypriot misery.

Here in Cyprus, some Cypriots(TC/GC) get along well with each other too.. but only when they don't argue something related with Cyprus problem...

On the other hand, while Londoner Cypriots have a common language for a healthy communication; in Cyprus most of the new generation Cypriots have a language barrier preventing them get into close relations.

Furthermore, in Cyprus; everyday many things happen that mostly affect the relations of Cypriots negatively.

The circumstances determine the course of individual and group relations of 2 communities.

When I was growing up in London, my best friend was TC and our neighbours, who were TCs, were 'good' family friends and I played with their kids. It was no different to playing with our Pakistani friends or English friends.

Then, 1974 happened and my TC best friend started sporting a "Baby Cyprus belongs to Mama Turkey" necklace and our TC neighbours started going to trips back to "Cyprus" more frequently and started some "business transactions" ... and what can I say ... the great divide began. :(

I hate Turks now ....

Zan, which ever way you construct your argument, the Orams case is mis-directed towards the legitimate GC owner. Their legal case should be against the TC/Turk (who has yet to step forward) who mis-sold them the property.

I digress because compared to the numbers of TC/Turkish community in London, the GCs cannot even hope to make an impact, and the numbers actually engaged in the above are not even worth mentioning.

The GC and TC of London DO actually get along.
