When I was growing up in London, my best friend was TC and our neighbours, who were TCs, were 'good' family friends and I played with their kids. It was no different to playing with our Pakistani friends or English friends.

Then, 1974 happened and my TC best friend started sporting a "Baby Cyprus belongs to Mama Turkey" necklace and our TC neighbours started going to trips back to "Cyprus" more frequently and started some "business transactions" ... and what can I say ... the great divide began.

I hate Turks now ....

Well Oracle, I went into a TCs house in the 80s and the had a sticker which had Cyprus in red with the star and cresent in it and yes it had an effect on me, but you can't let bullshit propoganda like that get to you because the ignorant father of the house has such views.

The father was old school, but the fact of the matter is that generally the TC and GC in London actually get along.

Oh yes ... we "get along". Pass the time of day etc .

But that's not living together is it?

Basically they have once again proved themselves to be the scum of the Earth; and I know I have high ethical expectations of people, so I give them a bit of leeway (being neighbours and all), but really what else do we have in common?

They want, want, want! I can't forgive people who flout Human Rights laws in this way, as being decent!

I am thoroughly ashamed of the behaviour of TCs and I hate the fact they use the "Cypriot" label as they are basically scummy and they will tarnish the rest of us Cypriots who do view International Laws and Human Rights Laws as fundamental to our civilisation ...

The big elephant in the TCs room is that they have probably lost more than the GCs in the so called Turkish "peace" operation.

Can someone actually clarify how many actual TCs there are left in Cyprus because as I see it they are now a minority and will always be doomed to be as such.

There are plenty of TCs in London, I have met and spoken to them and whilst the UK has a negative immigration rate with Cyprus yes - we do actually get along.

Almost all TCs r still in Cyprus. The main reason of their emigration is the socio-economic circumstances of Northern Cyprus that is under all types of embargoes. Most of the emigrated TCs have second homes in TRNC. They can return any time they wish.

Today, now, 16 September 2009 what is the proportion of ACTUAL TCs to settlers is.

I ask because the International Community has a right to know who exactly the RoC is negotiating with.

What difference does that make to who the roc is negotiating with. His name is Talat. You will find that 95% of MPs in TRNC are TC. It was arrived at by a free and democratic vote. Which is a lot more than can be said for the most of the international community.
Are the American, Russian and Chinese political systems democratic or free. Pull the other one, the middle one has bells on it.

Were they the true Cypriots that forced me off my island and gave me a kick up the arse on the way out in 1965??? Now they want to play with numbers.....They start the exclusion of TCs and now want to claim that we are too few...Don't make me laugh.....True Cypriots have a lot to be ashamed of and should not be too eager to claim that status Then they let in half breeds like Oracle and claim her in their numbers as well.....

Zan, you see the the main issue with the Cyprus problem is that people look to the past.

I presented this thead on the grounds that in London the GCs and TCs actually get along and I see no reason why they can't in Cyprus.
