Well Oracle, I went into a TCs house in the 80s and the had a sticker which had Cyprus in red with the star and cresent in it and yes it had an effect on me, but you can't let bullshit propoganda like that get to you because the ignorant father of the house has such views.

The father was old school, but the fact of the matter is that generally the TC and GC in London actually get along.

Oh yes ... we "get along". Pass the time of day etc .

But that's not living together is it?

Basically they have once again proved themselves to be the scum of the Earth; and I know I have high ethical expectations of people, so I give them a bit of leeway (being neighbours and all), but really what else do we have in common?

They want, want, want! I can't forgive people who flout Human Rights laws in this way, as being decent!

I am thoroughly ashamed of the behaviour of TCs and I hate the fact they use the "Cypriot" label as they are basically scummy and they will tarnish the rest of us Cypriots who do view International Laws and Human Rights Laws as fundamental to our civilisation ...

Oracle, whether you like it or not TCs are Cypriots like you and me.

What an excellent epitomy for the case for partition you are.

The big elephant in the TCs room is that they have probably lost more than the GCs in the so called Turkish "peace" operation.

Can someone actually clarify how many actual TCs there are left in Cyprus because as I see it they are now a minority and will always be doomed to be as such.

There are plenty of TCs in London, I have met and spoken to them and whilst the UK has a negative immigration rate with Cyprus yes - we do actually get along.

The figures I saw today were along the lines of 10% TC and 90% GC.

But why are you intent on forgiving TCs their greed?

Surely they should buck up and behave like decent Cypriots ...

So far, they hold nearly half of Cyprus to ransom ... and a LOT of those London TCs are behind the miss-selling of GC properties (I am certain our TC neighbours are!).

Let's not start off with pretence, please ....

Oracle, my query is and I await a TC to answer is as a proportion, how many actual TC are there in the occupied areas compared to settlers.

My hunch is that they are a minority in their own self styled enclave.

Almost all TCs r still in Cyprus. The main reason of their emigration is the socio-economic circumstances of Northern Cyprus that is under all types of embargoes. Most of the emigrated TCs have second homes in TRNC. They can return any time they wish.

Well, until some "clever" TC comes along to give you figures (they are a little shy) ... from what has been posted on the forum, it is anywhere between 300,000 to 500,000 Turkish Settlers to 90,000 to 110,000 TCs.

Overwhelming majority of TCs including me, don't consider ourselves as a minority among settlers. As i numerous times stated, previously; settlers arrived gradually. Most of the settlers, especially the ones who were 0-12 y.o and those who were born in Northern Cyprus completely absorbed TC cultural identity and even a native TC can't distinguish them from native TCs.
