How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Christine Toskos » Sun Sep 20, 2009 2:23 pm

Jesus is God made man. That is the heart of Christianity. Something I as a Christian can try to explain to you but you probably won't understand. The difference is I believe everyone has the right to believe and practice their religion without another person insulting them. Can we agree? As Dallaras song say I believe in Allah you believe in Jesus.

My question was why can we solve the illegal occupation of Cyprus logically? Why can't the Turks understand why we will never accept partition? I know we can live in peace and harmony. But the occupation must leave and we must be allow to return to our homes. Is that too much to demand?

Read all the GC and the TC posts and re-write your last post. With all the venom around, do you really see peace? I am not a partitionist btw.

Even your post s would be imflammatory. Just think about it.

Yes, I do. When the illegal army leaves our beloved island. When we Greeks can return without fear to our homes. Then and only then can we live in peace. As Christians we have the ability to forgive. We will forgive the TCs for betraying their country and stand with them as brothers if they promise never to betray us again. Because, TCs have suffered more living among the illegal occupation. We Greeks just want to go to our homes!

It's a question of trust, Krisdin. Turkish army wishes to leave Cyprus, gradually... siga, siga... safely... in a hope; Turks and Greeks besides TCs and GCs would sort their differences out and unite around some common interests in the course of time... U know what i mean, Krisdin?

I hope your prayers are answered as long as they include TCs as well.

Yes I do. However, why do they have to leave gradually? They did not enter Cyprus gradually. I remember how my family had to run in fear within minutes. My first cousin, from Kyrenia ran with her two babies in her arms when she saw the Turkish tank crush her house. The house that her father build for her for her wedding. My uncle build 5 houses for all his daughters and each of them were either destroyed or given by Turkish settlers. Do you understand how we feel? I must say this: No compromise Turkish army must leave and the people should be allowed to return to their homes. My cousin is willing to rebuild her house only when the Turkish army leaves Kyrenia forever.

I can understand ur feelings with great empathy, dear Krisidna. I mostly blame all these sad incidents on Grivas and N Sampson. Do u mostly blame these 2 Indo-Greeks too?

In 1974 Grivas was dead. So, would you blame a dead man for what Turkey did? What I want to ask all Turkish Cypriots one question: Why did you help our enemy? Turkey did not do the Turks of Cyprus any favorites. They enslaved you, isolated you and made you paupers. So why did you encourage them when they invaded. In every country in the world when you aid the enemy it's treason. The crime of treason is death.
