My wife and I are going on a cruise around the med in just over a week with royal caribbean,in the paper work they send you it states :we recomend you leave gratuities of $10 per day per person: for your maid and waiter we can take this and put it on your account at the start of your cruise or add it at the end.You see this is much better it takes all the guess work out of it.I hope it dosn,t catch on in the hotels in Cyprus

Yes and they pass it on to the workers, right!

Your guess is as good as mine I like to leave a tip for maids and waiters for good service but you don,t get a choice with this

jb1212 I was in Cyprus last December, and whenever i went out to a restaurant i would also leave a 20 percent tip, once with a cypriot friend he asked what i was doing? without me knowing it he took the tip out of the folder and gave it back to me...These people in cyprus do not tip at all, he told me that if i left a tip of that magnitude these people would think i was stupid..I think being in Wyoming all this time some of the Cypriot has been taken out of me....I am full blooded Cypriot by the way but live in Wyoming now
