In an interview with Phileleftheros, Archbishop Chrystostomos says that the church will play its part and urges the leadership and people not to panic at talk of partition.

He believes that Turkish intransigence leaves no hope for a solution.

He said that the settlers and the matter of Turkish demands to have guarantee powers both had to be sorted out if a solution was to be successful.

There can be no worst and not better agreement. Any agreement with the presence of invasion forces in North had and will always have the meaning of the surrenter agreement recognizing the illegal rights of the winner of the war.
