I, personally, would define "TCs" as indigenous Cypriots with a notionally Muslim background - as we know many if not most TCs don't take religion that seriously.

So, the phrase "Turkish/Muslim" is not synonymous with TCs?

Really?

I don't think so!

But, according to your definition, they are indistinguishable from the enemy occupant colonising our island!

What a load of rubbish Oracle.

I am honestly fed up with you at this point, so just don't talk to me for a while...

Torturous when you realise you are wrong and you cannot get out of it!

Oracle, if it makes you feel better, you are right and I am wrong.

Just don't talk to me right now because you do my head in and I could not be bothered with your wishy washy logic that absolutely makes no sense and contradicts itself ad nauseum!

Go and bother Deniz for a while...

The Cypriot:
Their overiding loyalty to Cyprus would mean they should despise Turkey for what it has done and is doing to their country and all its legitimate people.

Correct!

That is the case with some such as Kikapu.

But this does not mean he is any less Turkic Cypriot...just ask him if you wish!

The Cypriot wrote:How would you put it?

Self-defence.

Simon wrote: because their identity is apparently coming under attack every which way they turn.

The Cypriot wrote:It's all in your head. No one gives a shit.

That would explain the dozens of threads on this forum alone attacking the Greek heritage of Cyprus.

Simon wrote:This "obsession" has only surfaced since the obsessive neo-Cypriots appeared trying to tell us what we are and what we are not.

The Cypriot wrote:An equivalent obsession perhaps with which traditional Christians reject "obsessive" neo-intellectuals like Richard Dawkins for offering a different perspective on religion.

So now you're only offering a different viewpoint. Well then, this is our viewpoint, and it is no more obsessive than yours.

Simon wrote:It has a simple resolution. Everybody stop banging on about our identity, and instead put their energies into solving the national problem.

The Cypriot wrote:How can we when the vast most of Cypriots on this forum won't even put Cyprus and all its legitimate people first, godammit?

I'm sorry but the quality of your poll is poor and in no way does the opinions on this forum reflect those in Cyprus. For example, many options you have given do not exclude others, yet you have created an either/or poll. Views can clearly be misrepresented here. Furthermore, the more you bang on about identity, the more people will defend theirs. You will not get people to change their minds (if that is your aim) by going about it like you are.

Simon wrote:I mean, I don't see TCs tearing each other apart every 5 minutes about how they define themselves, do you?

The Cypriot wrote:Well maybe they should. It would do them some good to exercise some freedom of thought and freedom of expression.

They won't, because they have more common sense than you. They'll wait for you to declare yourself a TC, and you're half way there!

No. It wasn't meant to imply that necessarily.

He is probably busy sailing and traveling.

He will be back soon.

The whole basis of his passion seems to be focused on the threat against Turkish Cypriot culture in Cyprus due to the Turkish Occupation. He is also a big advocate for justice, and you simply can't wrong his contributions.

I am so not interested, and would be very happy if you ceased posting anything to me for quite a while...so please just get lost!
