In the absence of Miltiades, I think we should cease this morbidity and instead hope that Iris lives a long and happy life after making a dramatic recovery.

Those that have nothing good to say in this thread should say nothing. I remind you that this is the "General Chat" and that you should leave politics out of this section. This is neither the right time nor the right place to criticize Miltiades regarding his political views. You have done so in relevant threads in the past and when Miltiades is back you will have the chance to debate with him again.

We have all lost loved ones, experienced much despair, and anguish from time to time....

Death is inevitable for all of us, and our lives are indeed very short and need to be lived to their fullest. It is important to do as much good whilst we are on this planet for our fellow humans.

When we go through such times, it is important to reflect that the suffering and despair we experience is a fact of life for countless fellow humans in their quest for mere survival on a daily basis, particularly for those of us that are or were incapable of extending compassion and sympathy to those millions that are less fortunate than ourselves....I use to be there myself, and probably had the same ill feelings as the said individual, due to being indoctrinated within an ultra conservative, nationalistic dogma...so my message is not political and extends to all of us, and not just the above said individual...who does have my sincerest sympathies at this terrible time...

Yesterday, I visited our friend Miltiades.

He sends all forumers and especially those who asked about him his best regards.

Family health prevents him from partaking in the CF for the time being. As some will be aware, his dear wife Iris has been a sufferer of Cancer for more than seven years. The family have been told that the battle is lost and she has taken a turn to the worse with only a few weeks left. This has devastated Milti and his family - even though they did expect this to happen. His daughter is arriving with Yiannis Junior from Cyprus today.
Milti said he will join the CF again, when 'his mind is ready for it'.

I think you expressed that perfectly, people are still alive after death when others remember them. It is not about visiting graves, it is the memories!
