Grivas, was very much like Che Guevera; a soldier whose war never ends… the moment a trouble spot would die down they’d sail off to the next!

They didn’t really know what the hell they were doing other than seek military adventure.

GR, you were killing British soldiers, TCs and GCs in the name of self determination and still you sight that as the reason for your struggles. When it suits you you deny that any right to it exists....You can't have it both ways old chum!!!

Well, you pinned it all on Grivas so I spoke in his "defense"...

The EOKA campaign was a decolonization campaign from a FOREIGN occupier thus the term “self determination” may be used, but it cannot be used when your enemy are a proportion of your compatriots!!!

See the difference?

You don't need a UN resolution to tell you when you're a minority but I’ve heard that basic arithmetic helps in determining it…

The janitor, gardener, and a couple of security guards are going to shove them in a dumpster and push them down a hill!

GR, The Native Americans (not called Indians any more) have that same right of self-determination. I can't deny that. BTW The UN Charter does state that the right of self-determination does exist.

What occupier? You have said many times that we are a mishmash of many peoples so we were colonised along the lines of Piratis' ranting about how Greeks "colonised" the world. We have only owned the island from 1960 on paper. As two equal communities.

I gave you a link last year, of the UN’s compassionate opinion on “self determination” but you won’t find them passing generic laws in its favor in fear of opening Padora’s box!

The British were the occupier at the time, as per the UN's international decolonization law (1960).

UN laws are regularly flouted. They have as much respect among nations as a turd in a punchbowl! Anyway, I've been meaning to ask you: suppose the Turkish and Greek influences left Cyprus. What makes you beleive that both communities would be willing to get back together again? I know you feel very passionately about this, but don't you think that this view of yours a little too idealistic?

The same way the Los Angeles riots were defused! LAW & ORDER!

A mixed police force and National Guard should do the trick if anyone gets frisky… :)
