As long as they are there as tourists they'll be ok. What about the 200.000 Greeks that used to live there until 1955?

Can you think of any peoples that the Greek nation might have displaced????

Zan now you have put the cat amongest the pigeons these people are in capable of seeing what you ask let alone accept and verbalize it...

You mean during peace time? Or are you talking about population exchanges?

Zan, I've said it many times and I'll say it again: I'm not judging people, I'm judging governments. I have absolutely nothing against the Turks and definitely no feelings of hate whatsoever. But Turkish governments have been ruthless to my people and the 55 pogrom was their peak. It happened in peace time and it dislocated a people who had been living in these lands for 2000 years. In just one night. Unbelievable

There has never really been a peace time between us AleXISS....The threat of the Megali idea has always been there.

Really? How do you say "Megali idea" in Turkish? Are you aware that most Greeks do not even know what it refers to? Are you really suggesting that Turkey deported 200,000 people because it felt threatened by Greece?!? What parts of Turkey do you believe Greece is after?
I'm sorry but this is a lame excuse zan, even today it's Turkey that threatens Greece with war, because that's all your governments know how to do

No need to get defensive aleXISS...If you are going to look at things in a one dimensional way then you will arrive at what you just stated every time. It was not that long ago that Galipoli happened my friend....Do you blame the Turks for thinking that Greece still wants the Turkish empire to collapse....Greece is doing what t has always done.....It cannot face a war with Turkey simply because of numbers. So in that case what do you do. You plan and connive....Turkey then counters......A cold war that you think has stopped long ago.....You say people don't even know about the Megali idea....since when have people decided about such things??? Are you saying the GoC has not heard of it...How about top politicians.....Who is steering the country mate????

There is no Turkish empire and I blame the Turkish GOVERNMENT for fooling people into thinking that Greece somehow devises its demise...

In any case I don't care about what people think or are afraid of... but the facts: 200,000 Greeks deported from their homeland and NOT ONE Turk harmed in Thrace. Even the Turks were surprised to see that their unforgiven atrocity was left unavenged

Do you think that population exchanges are not harmful?? Do you think that the Turks of Crete should have stayed??? I am not condoning the acts aleXISS but your separating one event from the other is just not right. The same way that the GCs are now afraid of what might happen in voting in Cyprus is the way that they thought then. Lets get rid of all the Turks and TCs out of Cyprus and they will not be able to influence it in any way in the future. Why are you not angered by a more recent event that effected the person you are actually talking to???

Zan, please try and see the difference: You are complaining about "scenarios", "ideas" and "plans". I am talking about FACTS. Atrocities that were not planned, but commited. Those Greek "plans" that you are so afraid of may well be just another propaganda attempt by your government, exactly like the supposed bombing of Ataturk's home that never happened. You have a history of manufacturing threats to justify your consequent attacks, and your obsession with "megali idea" is just another example.

Regarding the population exchanges: They were more or less imposed by Turkey who had won the war, and the ratio of displaced Greeks and Turks was far from even: 500,000 Turks vs 1,500,000 Greeks
