Christofias says Turkish troops must leave for Cyprus deal

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby repulsewarrior » Sat Sep 12, 2009 1:54 am

i think that Turkey will withdraw her troops as well. we should profit from this guarantorship by establishing a State that is most modern, one which Turkey herself cannot deny.

as Grecophones and as Turcophones we must make the effort to become closer to our own land, Cyprus. we must resist the proxy war of our interlocutors to demonstrate the Principals which as Humans we can improve in bettering our condition.

Christofias is right. Turkey has no rights on Cyprus. The Ottoman Empire sold Cyprus to the British back in 1878. What gives them the right to invade, kill, and rape our beloved island. Cyprus is a Greek island. If the Turkish Cypriots choose to remain on our island they must agree to obey our laws. They must leave the homes they sold from our people and they must be punished if they fought against Cyprus. Greece never invaded our island. They never chased Turkish Cypriots from their homes nor did they slaughtered the Turkish Cypriots. Can Turkey say the same? No. They slaughtered my first cousin we still never got his remains. There has never been a day we did not think of him. Sorry. Turkey has destroyed too many lives. Greece has hurt no one. Shame on Turkey.

What happened in 1963 or 1974? Viewpoint were you alive then? Did you live on the Greek island of Cyprus during that time? Where you educated by the Barbaric Turks? Nothing happened to your precious Turkish Cypriots.

Greeks never harmed any Turkish Cypriots. Turkish Cypriots aren't even Turks they are Greek Muslims. Next you will tell me Cat Stevens is a Turkish Cypriot.

Did the Greeks ever kicked out of their homes or murdered or raped any Turk? NO! But the Turks did rape and murder to my 90 year old great aunt in 1974. She refused to leave her home on July 20, 1974. But being a Turk you probably think she deserved it because she was a Christian! So who should be more afraid? The Christian Greeks or the Osama bin Ladin Turks. Turks have been fighting a Jihad against Christains since the 14th Century.

You may be right... and those of Cypriot origin have to suffer because of it.

I wonder what those lovely Greeks were thinking when they escorted my family off the island in 1965, three by plane and 5 by boat, and if they were saving us, being the nice people they are, and from who???

I lived on the CYPRIOT island of Cyprus, but a bunch of Greek Nationalist dogs saw fit to disrespect our sovereignty by overthrowing our democratically elected government and killing many of our people, thereby paving the way for a second group of deadly dogs, the Turks to come and finish us off!

"Greece has hurt no one". Interesting comment, Christine. But somehow, I just can't imagine that every single Greek Cypriot at that time were flower-power Earth-hugging pacifists at the mercy of the Turkish Cypriots who you seem to regard each and every one of them as baby-killing mankind-hating nihlists...

A pity that the ugly realities of Realpolitik - by both sides - caused the current problem, GR. It's also a pity that you and I have different ideas as to solve the problem (you with reconciliation outside of all foreign influences and I with formalizing the partition). At least we both agree that certain countries made a mess out of things, and they will continue to do so as long as Cyprus has their strategic interest.
