I am not taking sides; I am merely giving my view on the current conduct of CF and whether I believe it is in the best interests of the Forum.

Yes, there is 'Free Speech', but CF should be viewed as a 'club' whereby anyone wishing to 'join' must behave both within the Rules and within the culture/ethos/spirit. People who do not feel this is right for them, can always leave.

I welcome diverse membership, both in terms of age and ethnicity, a wide range of opinion can only make CF a richer place to be - but we really cannot turn CF into something which it is not. Members want topics and posts, as I said earlier, to make a positive contribution - either by being informative or amusing.

I do not set policy here, Admin does, but I am entrusted to assist to try to make it as good a place as we can.

As a Postscript, if anyone thinks that a 'Gossip' Section would be a worthwhile addition to CF, they can approach Admin.

We're all free to choose which threads we read and ignore those not to our interest. It seems to me there should be room for all. Most of the time I choose to read those posts by which I can expand my knowledge of Cyprus and keep up with what is happening in this country, but I also enjoy some of the lighter, humorous topics posted by emma ruby et al.
